(Press play to listen, or subscribe on iTunes, GooglePlayPodbean!)

It’s been a while since we had the pleasure of talking about a fantastic Kickstarter, but wait no longer!  Dungeon Dressing Dice is Hexes & Bows’ latest review and boy was it fun to demo!

Gnome plays single player on this episode and shares his thoughts and experience with Incognito Solutions Inc.’s tabletop accessory: Dungeon Dressing Dice.

IMG_4824Now, let’s first just start off with the fact that dice are fun to collect, so if you’re just looking to add a unique set of dice to your already multiplying collection, this one’s a bit of a no-brainer to invest in!

However, if you want something that is not only durable, functional, AND fun, definitely look into picking up a set of Dungeon Dressing Dice.  This product, according to Gnome, is perfect for Dungeon Masters that struggle with filling their dungeon rooms with interesting, story-based items.  Whether you’re trying to create an elaborate manor many sessions in advance or forced to create a new dungeon room on the spot, Dungeon Dressing Dice is there to help.  Take a few minutes and listen to Gnome’s detailed and honest review!

Dungeon Dressing Dice has 12 days left on Kickstarter and already reached it’s funding goal of $6,500 for mass production, sitting at $16,000 as of posting this review!  Check out the Kickstarter here and follow Incognito Solutions on twitter!

Gnome also takes a moment to make an announcement regarding Hexes & Bows new project: Hexes & Bows Actual Play Podcast!  The characters are cast and the stage is set!  H&B will be playing a homebrew D&D 5e game with a great cast of characters and a brand new world!

Thank you so much for listening! Don’t forget to subscribe on iTunes, Podbean, or other podcast apps so you don’t miss out on an episode!

We’ll still be publishing more content every week! The second pot-a-brewin’ is our reviews! There’s loads of items for Mr. and Mrs. Gnome to go over and many more in the works! H&B Podcast Episode 009: Star Wars with Special Guest Darryl Vincent

18319202_10213255591967817_5913196056923439574_o

Mandalorian Merc Costume Club member and Star Wars expert, Darryl Vincent, joins the Hexes & Bows cast in today’s episode!

Due to technical difficulties (blame it on the Jawas) much of the footage was lost. However, thanks to a diligent gnome and some digital duct tape, we’re still able to enjoy the conversation with Darryl about his experiences with Star Wars: X-Wing, Clone Wars, and some old-fashioned AOL roleplaying!

We appreciate your patience with this episode and hope you enjoy it!

About Darryl

If there is anyone that knows anything about Star Wars it’s Darryl! An Army veteran and (as Gnome proclaims) Star Wars expert, Darryl joins the Hexes & Bows Podcast to share his experiences and adventures into the exciting world of costume building with the Mandalorian Mercenary Costume Club. Darryl also talks about playing Fantasy Flight’s X-Wing miniatures game and drops some insight on the Clone Wars cartoon.

H&B Podcast Episode 004: 50 Shades of Gaming

Today’s Hexes & Bows Podcast episode is a little special.  Mr. and Mrs. Gnome have a solid heart-to-heart conversation about the influence of gaming in a relationship.

There are plenty of ways to get past hurdles in a relationship, but one of the best ways, at least for Joey and Tara, is discovering new board games and other games to play together.  Cooperative games are incredibly important in this geeky couple’s relationship and aided them in building stronger communication skills while deepening their 10 year relationship.

We also go a little deeper into how Dungeons and Dragons offers a deeper connection than other games have and the importance of storytelling and using your imagination.

Let us know what games you enjoy playing with your significant other! We’re always looking for new games to try out!

Games Discussed

World of Warcraft, Settlers of Catan, Elder Signs, Dungeons & Dragons, World of Darkness, Dead of Winter, Forbidden Island, Once Upon a Time, Descent, Arkham Horror, Apples to Apples, Cards Against Humanity, Secret Hitler, Masquerada,

Edit: SoundCloud is being silly and stopping the episode at the 50′ mark. We recommend listening to this week’s episode on iTunes or TuneIn! Sorry for any inconvenience!

Another awesome episode of Hexes & Bows is out today! (Be warned, there’s a bit of nsfw language use in this one!)

Fill your ears with the sweet, sultry voices of Gnome, Tim, Hansard, and first time co-host, Tara (aka Mrs. Gnome!). There’s plenty to talk about today, with topics ranging from roleplaying in non-roleplaying games, zombies, zombies, zombies!, and Gnome’s personal favorite topic of late 80s / early 90s childhood board games!

This week’s Kickstarter Spotlight showcases the very cool, very large game by ODAM Publishing called The Shared Dream. Listen to the podcast, see if it interests you, then head to their Kickstarter page and pledge! Act fast, because by the time this posts, the game has only 2 days left (but it’s already been funded!).

Is there a game you’d love to dig up from the attic or repurchase in order to play again? Let us know in the comments!

Games Discussed:

Dead of Winter, Pandemic, ODAM: The Shared Dream, Elder Signs, Lego games, COD, Pretty Pretty Princess, Mall Madness, Parasite Eve, Resident Evil, Zombicide, World of Warcraft, Lord of the Rings, Vampire the Masquerade, World of Darkness, Dream Phone, Crossfire, Where In the World is Carmen Sandiego?, Perfection, Cards Against Humanity, Lotteria

*Dear Listener ❤

We apologize for some of the audio and for some conversations stepping over others. We were trying a new thing with the microphones and it did not work out. We’re still learning the game, so thank you kindly for your patience and understanding!

Sincerely,
The Hexes & Bows Podcast Team

Things a’Brewin’

A big hearty welcome to you, traveler! Of all the domains to stumble on, this is the one you decided to sift through! For now, I’ll be brief.

We here at Hexes & Bows are just beginning our adventure into the world of content creation. While our podcast is still in production, you can watch our live Dungeons and Dragons campaign on Twitch! We typically play one Sunday or Saturday a month for 5-8 hours straight!

If you take a moment to follow this blog (and I insist that you do!), you’ll soon find articles, editorials, instructionals, photography, and storytelling entries written by members of Hexes & Bows.  Stories may be independent or, they could intertwine with our current tabletop campaign and provide additional insight to the characters in our world!

There are plenty of adventures to be shared, traveler, and I do hope you’ll return to share them with us.

Thank you for stopping by and may the glow of your device be ever radiant!
